Patience for my Birthday.
I want to know who thought of me.
I want the name of the SOB
who decided so impulsively
to give me patience for my birthday.

I want to thank them personally,
And look them in the eye menacingly
And ask of their state mentally
For giving me patience for my birthday.

It’s not that I begrudge them specifically.
It’s more the nature of the gift you see.
For patience is a virtue that inevitably
Is not in the box on your birthday.

Patient is something you wait to be.
Patience is born of longanimity.
Patient is something that will never be me!
And I’ll re-gift it to them for THEIR birthday!
